The Terraces
The Terraces is a family-owned, small producer of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel in the eastern foothills of Rutherford. We also make a limited quantity on Chardonnay and Petite Sirah. Our ranch is known as Quarry Vineyards in deference to the 125 year old rock quarry on the property. Although we grow grapes for several other Napa Valley wineries, we reserve seven acres of our oldest and best vines to produce The Terraces wines. The Terraces Zinfandel clone taces its roots to the vines planted on the ranch in the 1800s. This clone, the "Werle" clone produces an open cluster with small berries, which is recognized and coveted for its intense color and distinctive aromas and flavors. The Cabernet clones were selected from Caymus and Grace Family Vineyards. We firmly believe that the character of our wines, their intensity and their color are the results of our viticultural practices which produce very low yields per acre and are picked at optimal maturity. We produce 1500 cases annually. We release our Chardonnay in June and our red wines in September.

Yes. We send 3 shipments of 4 bottles of new releases per year. In the spring and summer we have winemaker lunches which are exclusive to our wine club members.
Napa Green
The Napa Green program is supported by a wide variety of groups including the Sierra Club, the Audubon Society, and the University of California. The Napa Valley Vintners, along with Fish Friendly Farming, the Napa Valley Grapegrowers, the Napa County Farm Bureau and others developed the Napa Green program.

Certified Napa Green Land
The Terraces is certified under the Napa Green Certified Land Program. The Terraces has created and implemented a customized farm plan with measured results that addressed all aspects of its property, vineyard land as well as non-farmed land, including practicing soil conservation, water conservation, stable drainage, riparian corridor enhancement, fisheries and wildlife habitat enhancement and long-term improvement and sustainability.
Certification - certification is granted by the Napa County Agricultural Commissioners Office of Pesticide Regulation, the Regional Water Quality Control board, the California Department of Fish and Game, and the National Marine Fisheries Service.

Premiere Napa Valley

Once a year the rarest new Napa Valley wines become available under one roof at Premiere Napa Valley. Wineries throughout the Napa Valley are given one task to participate: create a one-of-a-kind wine for this event to be purchased by one lucky bidder. This event is only open to select members of the wine trade and the successful bidder is the sole owner of this unique wine.
